'Jenny' steadily intensifies; Signal No. 1 up in parts of N. Luzon
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical Astronomical and Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, Oct. 2 said Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) number 1 was raised over parts of Northern Luzon.
Batanes, Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands, northern and eastern portions of Isabela, Apayao, northern and central portions of Ilocos Norte, the northeastern portion of Abra, and the northern portion of Kalinga are areas under Wind Signal No. 1, said PAGASA.

Weather specialist Benison Estareja said there may be more possible areas where Wind Signal No. 1 will be hoisted --- particularly in extreme northern Luzon.
"Posible ring mag-upgrade pa into Signal No. 2 and worst-case scenario [is] Signal No. 3 (It's also possible to upgrade to Signal No. 2, and in the worst-case scenario, Signal No. 3)," Estareja added.
"Jenny" steadily intensified at maximum sustained winds of 155 kph near the center with gustiness of up to 190 kph, moving northwestward at 15kph, said PAGASA.
PAGASA said the center of the eye of Typhoon Jenny was last seen at 485 kilometers East of Basco, Batanes.
Moreover, "Jenny" will persist in enhancing the southwest monsoon or "habagat" bringing in occasional monsoon rains over the western portions of Central, Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in the next three days, said PAGASA. (Lizst Torres Abello)
