Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, director of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), said it is time to establish more police stations to cater to a growing population.

Coronica said  the number of people from other provinces transacting with national government agencies as well as major businesses daily adds the population of less than a half a million here.

The ICPO said these four new police stations will be located at Megaworld Corp.’s 72-hectare township Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao District, Iloilo City Hall in City Proper District, La Paz District, and Lapuz District.

ICPO plans to integrate these new police stations with existing Iloilo City Action and Response (ICARE) centers established by the Iloilo City government.

Coronica said the next challenge is finding funding for the creation of these new police stations.

The ICPO has forwarded the plan to the higher headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
