A “Bigasang Bayan” was established on behalf of the Pateros municipal government to sell regular and well-milled rice to the public at prices set by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Marcos issued Executive Order No. 39 on Aug. 31 imposing a mandated price ceiling of P41 per kilo for regular milled rice and P45 per kilo for well-milled rice that took effect on Sept. 5.

To help the public, the “Bigasang Bayan” sells regular milled rice at P41 per kilo and well-milled rice at P45 per kilo.
Each buyer can purchase up to a maximum of five kilos of rice and they need to bring their own eco bag or plastic bag.
The “Bigasang Bayan” is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located beside the Liwasang Bayan in front of the municipal hall.
Last month, Pateros Mayor Miguel Ponce III and representatives from the national government distributed “ayuda” or financial assistance to retailers affected by the imposition of the rice price ceiling.
