Shear line, northeasterly wind flow to bring rains over parts of PH
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, Oct. 19 said two weather systems will bring cloudy weather with rain showers over parts of the country in the next 24 hours.

PAGASA said the shear line—the area where the cold northeasterly wind flow and the warm easterly winds converge—will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, and Camarines Norte
Rains will also affect Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, and Aurora due to the northeasterly surface wind flow, or the initial blast of cold breeze from the northeast.
PAGASA warned of flash floods and landslides in areas affected by the shear line and northeasterly surface wind flow due to the occurrence of moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms because of the northeasterly wind flow and localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned the public against flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms. (Lizst Torres Abello)
