PDEA: Over P28-B worth of illegal drugs seized under PBBM administration

A total of P28.01 billion worth of illegal drugs were seized from various anti-illegal drugs operations since July 1 last year, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Thursday, Oct. 19.

Based on the PDEA data, a total of 3,795. 86 kilos of shabu were seized along with 38.26 kilos of cocaine and 2,755.89 kilos of marijuana from July 1, 2022 to September 30 this year.

A total of 52,386 pieces of ecstasy were confiscated during the same period.

Out of these anti-illegal drug operations, the PDEA report noted that 64,862 drug personalities, including 4,468 those identified as ‘high-value targets’ were arrested.

PDEA also stated that a total of 27,799 barangays are now drug-cleared leaving only 7,738 drug-affected barangays in the country.

Government anti-narcotics authorities also dismantled one clandestine laboratory and 726 drug dens in the same period.
