Parañaque LGU recognized for outstanding accounting office

The Parañaque City government's Accounting Office was recognized as the “Outstanding Accounting Office 2022”  by the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP) on Thursday, Oct. 18.

According to Mayor Eric Olivarez, the city’s Accounting Office, under the supervision of Marilou Tanael, was named as “Outstanding Accounting Office” by AGAP during its annual convention held at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City.

The Commission on Audit and the Department of Budget and Management recognized the city’s accounting office for its quality service, accurate financial report, and performance for the year 2022.

He said the recognition is a proof that the city’s funds were being used properly for the city government’s programs and projects for its residents.

The mayor commended Tanael for her hard work, dedication, effective management, and excellent service as head of the Accounting Office.

Olivarez said the award is another feather on the cap of the city government.

He said the city also landed in the Top 10 among the 16 cities in Metro Manila  in the Department of Interior and Local Government's (DILG) and the Bureau of Local Government Supervision as one of the 2022 Good Financial Housekeeping passers   

"These are in recognition of our good governance practices and demonstrate transparent and honest administration," Olivarez said.
