Man yields P251,000 worth of 'shabu' in Pasig buy-bust

Members of the Pasig City Police Station seized over P251,600 worth of illegal drugs from a man in Barangay Buting, Pasig City on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Police identified the suspect as "Borong", 48, a resident of Barangay Sta. Cruz, Pasig. He was nabbed at around 1:20 a.m. during a buy-bust operation on Ilaya Street in Barangay Buting.

During the operation, police confiscated 37 grams of suspected shabu and the buy-bust money.

The suspect was arrested after a series of surveillance operations and proper coordination between the operatives of the Pasig City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and the San Joaquin Police Sub-Station.

The suspect is facing charges for violation of Section 5 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

"I highly commend the excellent job, dedication, and efforts of the operating units for another milestone in our war against illegal drugs within our area of responsibility. I also urge the general public to be vigilant and be our active partners in the fight against all forms of lawlessness and criminality in the city," Pasig police chief Col. Celerino Sacro Jr. said.
