Shear line, northeasterly wind flow to bring rain showers across PH
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday, Oct. 18 said rain showers may prevail over most of the country due to the shear line and northeasterly surface wind flow.

PAGASA said the shear line—an area where cold and warm winds converge—may bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, and Camarines Norte.
Meanwhile, the northeasterly surface wind flow, or the initial blast of cold breeze coming from the northeast, may cause cloudy and rainy weather in Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, and Aurora.
PAGASA warned of flash floods and landslides in areas affected by the shear line and northeasterly surface wind flow during moderate to heavy rains.
The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the northeasterly wind flow and localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned the public against flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms. (Lizst Torres Abello)
