CEBU CITY – High-powered firearms were recovered from the house of a man in Toledo City, Cebu on Tuesday night, October 17.
The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Cebu City Field Unit (CIDG-CCFU) raided the house of Ferid Joseph Libre Baena on the strength of a search warrant issued by Toledo City Regional Trial Court Branch 29 Judge Ruben Altubar.
Police said seized from Baena’s house were a Sterling 9mm submachine gun, an M16 rifle, an M14 rifle, M16 aero precision, and caliber .223 Vector Arms rifle.

Various ammunition and magazines were also seized during the raid.
According to the CIDG-CCFU, the suspect’s neighbors had been complaining about the man’s penchant for indiscriminate firing.
The CIDG-CFU said that the operation is part of the “Oplan: Paglalansag Omega,” the agency’s flagship campaign against loose firearms.
