P1 million shabu seized in Taguig


Police arrested two suspects, including a minor, and seized P1 million worth of suspected shabu in Barangay East Rembo, Taguig. 

While Taguig now has jurisdiction over EMBO (enlisted men's barrio) barangays based on a Supreme Court decision, the Makati police still have jurisdiction over Barangay East Rembo.

The buy-bust operation was carried out by the Makati police on 1st Avenue, East Rembo on Oct. 16. 

The police identified the arrested suspects as one with the alias Dada, 26, female and a 17-year-old male. Another suspect, identified as alias Philip, 24, managed to escape.  

Seized during the operation three plastic plastic bags containing suspected shabu, weighing 153 grams with a value of P1.04 million, one plastic sachet containing suspected marijuana, one P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, 159 pieces of P1,000 boodle money, glass tube pipe with residue of suspected marijuana, and cellphone. 

"The successful operation demonstrate SPD's persistent commitment to combatting illicit drug operations in the city and throughout Southern Metro Manila,” said Southern Police District chief Brig. Gen. Roderick Mariano.
