DLSU’s Office for Strategic Communications released a statement emphasizing the value of data security and urging all Lasallians to enable two-factor authentication in their DLSU email accounts by Oct. 21.

The Oct. 10 cyberattack was first reported by the university's student publication, "The La Sallian," which described it as an "incident on our servers."

They responded by taking immediate action to stop further compromises, which included momentarily blocking the university's website and information systems.

Another announcement was made telling DLSU staff to update their Google Workspace passwords.

The university staff were also advised not to turn on their local computers until ITS provided administrative offices with newly formatted computers.
