Pasay, Makati ink MOU on beautification, rehabilitation of Tripa de Galina

The cities of Pasay and Makati signed on Tuesday, Oct. 17, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the beautification and rehabilitation of Tripa de Galina.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano represented Pasay City while Vice-Mayor Monique Lagdameo represented Makati City during the MOU signing.

Rubiano said Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) acting chairman Atty. Romando Artes , Senior Water Specialist George Comair from World Bank were also present during the signing.

“Tripa De Gallina is an established landmark that we collectively celebrate and utilize for its size and contribution to our ecosystem. This beautification is indeed one for the books, as rehabilitation of this creek will bring forth much needed holistic growth and development, as part of the MMDA's Urban Renewal and ReGreening Program -- a program that we in Pasay City are very much familiar with, especially with our grand vision of smart sustainability in place,” according to Rubiano. 

Rubiano said solid waste management and sustainable practices are the initiative of two cities and the MMDA.

She said Tripa de Galina will have have a linear park with playground, chairs and tables, surrounded with plants, mini-store and a wishing well.
