Police Capt. Joven Mogato, head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), identified the suspect as Jummel Camento.
Mogato said they conducted a two-week monitoring on Camento after the community complained about the suspect’s illegal drug activities.
Camento was arrested in 2012 for a drug offense and was released last year after the dismissal of the case, he added.
Mogato said they found out that the suspect was one of the clients of Michael Frias who was also arrested by the CDEU in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Vista Alegre here on August 10. Recovered from Frias was suspected shabu valued at P14.3 million.
Mogato said they are probing the possible link of Camento with the Caunda Drug Group where Frias was reportedly to be a member of.
He said the illegal drug was delivered to Camento’s house on Monday night, October 16, and believed to be sourced outside Western Visayas.
Also recovered from Camento were the P10,000 marked money and P1,500. Camento, tagged as a high-value individual, is detained at Police Station 8.
