"The bridge between San Juan and Sariaya in Quezon has been funded with P100 million but another P190 million is needed to finish it. I assure you of its release. Nagkautang pa tuloy ako sa inyo (I owe you)," Marcos, speaking at the payout for 635 beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) in this town who received P3,000 each at the covered court beside the new municipal hall, said.
The sister of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said she kept on following funding with the Department of Public Works and Highways which released the initial P100 million for the bridge.
She said that she seldom comes here but this time, she has to personally see the situation, especially when she learned that the bridge connecting Batangas and Quezon is yet to be rebuilt.
Imee was welcomed and assisted by Mayor Ildebrando Salud, Vice Mayor Anthony Marasigan, and members of Sangguniang Bayan in the distribution of aid.
"Let us thank the personnel of DSWD for this financial assistance and of course your mayor, Beebong Salud," Imee said.
Marcos also handed out toys, cookies, and nutribun to day-care pupils present in the event.
