The group extended their condolences to the victims and their families on all sides of this long-standing conflict, including the three Filipinos who tragically lost their lives in the attack.

"We continue our urgent appeal to the Philippine government to prioritize the safety of every Filipino affected by this crisis, notably the over 100 of our compatriots in Gaza," Akbayan said.

The group stressed the critical importance of "respecting and adhering to international humanitarian law" to ensure the protection of all civilians and maintain principles of justice and humanity.

"The injustices and sufferings they have faced over many years demonstrate the critical need to address their plight and recognize their just struggle," Akbayan said.

It also highlighted the need for a comprehensive understanding of Palestinians' and Israelis' rights and underlying issues.

It stressed that the desire for the safety of their families and communities is a fundamental human aspiration that should not be dismissed.

Moreover, Akbayan emphasized the importance of distinguishing the aspirations for peace and justice held by many ordinary Palestinians and Israelis from the state's policies, politics, tendencies, and methods that lean towards extremism and unjust violence.

"The majority of ordinary Palestinians and Israelis seek a peaceful coexistence and a just resolution to the conflict. It is imperative that the international community works together to achieve this goal," it added.
