CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – Two persons were killed in motorcycle accidents in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan before dawn on Monday, October 16.
Police identified the victims as Mark Russel Jimenez of Asingan, Pangasinan and Dan Aldrin Peralta dela Cruz of Urdaneta City.
Investigation said Jimenez lost control of his motorcycle and rammed into the metal railings on the shoulder of the bypass road in Barangay Santa Lucia.
Jimenez, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained a head injury and died on the way to the Urdaneta City District Hospital.
Police said a Toyota HiAce van driven by Norberto Sidayin Combes, 44, of Barangay Dilan Paurido, Urdaneta City, encroached on the lane of Dela Cruz on the Urdaneta-Dagupan Road in Barangay Pinmaludpod and hit him.
Dela Cruz sustained severe injuries and died upon reaching the Urdaneta City District Hospital.
Combes was taken into police custody.
