In an advisory, FDA identified 15 cosmetic products that are "not safe for use."

The unauthorized products include "Veze Ambilight Pink Shiny Makeup Spray,” “Skintouch Sun-Safety Cream Gel Spf50,” “Matte Dodo Girl Professional Make Up 12 Colors Eyeshadow Palette 03,” “Ecobar Red Clay Gentle Bath Bar,” “Yimiaosi Fanshilin Moisture Cream,” “Endless Beauty by Hbs Bleaching Soap,” “Brightest Skin Essentials Dermax Facial Toner,” “Bys Disney Princess Ariel Hydrating Face Mask,” “Herbal Face-Wash Rose,” “Charcoal Face Wash with Floral Extracts,” “Body Philosophy Refreshing Hand Sanitizer,” “Body Philosophy Refreshing Hand Sanitizer Anti-Bacterial,” “Sukee Skin Essentials UV Defense Sunscreen Spf 50 Pa+++,” “Franzie Magic Powder Cool Blue,” and “Zen Zest Pop in Pink.”

It said the above mentioned products were verified by the FDA through postmarketing surveillance and showed no valid Certificate of Product Notification (CPN) as of Oct. 5, 2023.

Given that these unauthorized cosmetic products have not undergone its notification process, the agency cannot vouch for their quality or safety, the FDA said.

The agency also noted that the utilization of such non-compliant products may pose serious health risks to consumers.

These potential hazards could result from the inclusion of ingredients that are prohibited in cosmetic products or from contamination by heavy metals, it said.

FDA emphasized that using substandard and potentially contaminated cosmetic products could lead to severe reactions, including skin irritation, itchiness, anaphylactic shock, and even organ failure.

It asked affected establishments not to distribute unauthorized cosmetic products until they fully comply with the agency's rules and regulations, following recent findings. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
