Trillanes urges Marcos admin to allow entry of ICC in PH, probe Duterte's war on drugs
Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Monday, October 16, renewed his call for the Marcos administration to allow the International Criminal Court (ICC) to enter the Philippines and investigate former president Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs.

“We, the Magdalo group, are urging the Marcos administration to allow the ICC investigators into the country in order to make ex-president Rodrigo Duterte accountable for his crimes against humanity,” said Trillanes, national chairman of the Magdalo group.
Trillanes made the call after the former leader made a public admission on national television recently that he used his confidential and Intelligence funds (CIF) to conduct extra-judicial killings on his constituents in Davao City when he was still its mayor.
“Being the original filers of the ICC case in 2017, we have witnessed and documented the barbaric actions of the past administration, as well as the trauma and hardships that the thousands of victims and their families have suffered,” he pointed out.
“Truly, justice is long overdue,” Trillanes reiterated.
A video clip of Duterte’s statements aired on the television program of Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI), showed him saying he had utilized his intelligence fund to kill some people.
“Ang intelligence fund, binili ko. Pinapatay ko lahat, kaya gano’n ang Davao,( I bought the intelligence fund. I killed everyone, that’s why Davao is like that),” he said.
Duterte had also defended his daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte, against critics who questioned her requests for confidential and intelligence funds (CIF) for the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd).
President Marcos had said his administration would no longer talk with the ICC and continued to question the ICC’s jurisdiction over the country’s investigations on the matter.
