CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Police Regional Office 4-A deployed 1,712 police officers and force multipliers to maintain peace and order in the transport strike in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area on Monday, October 16.
PRO 4-A director Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas said 1,561 policemen and 151 force multipliers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire and Protection, and Philippine Coast Guard were deployed in places of convergence of transport groups in different provinces in Region 4-A.
Other security personnel conducted checkpoint, mobile patrols, and police visibility in areas vulnerable to illegal activities, Lucas said.
Lucas added the Civil Disturbance Management and Regional Standby Support Force are ready to be deployed if disturbance arises in the strike.
He ordered policemen to strictly observe the freedom of expression and peaceable assembly during the protest action.
Lucas ensured that there are enough forces to support the commuting public in areas that needs police assistance.
