President Marcos has assured the family of Loreta "Lorie" Villarin Alacre, the third Filipino killed in the war between Israel and Hamas militants, of the immediate repatriation of her remains as soon as a humanitarian corridor opened for affected civilians.

Marcos said this after the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed last week the death of Alacre, a 49-year-old caregiver in Haifa and Tel Aviv who was among the Filipinos earlier reported missing when Hamas attacked Israel from the Gaza strip.
In a phone conversation with the victim's sister on Sunday, Oct. 15, the President extended his condolences and said that the DMW and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) will provide all necessary assistance to those affected by the war.
He assured her that the government was now focusing on sending Alacre's remains back home.
"May assistance para sa pamilya, pero lahat ng kailangang gawin para maiuwi na ay gagawin na muna namin (There will be assistance for the family, but we're now doing everything to get her back)," Marcos said.
"Tulungan ka namin. Basta’t nandito ang gobyerno (We will help you. The government is here)," he added.
According to President Marcos, the Philippine ambassador to Egypt is waiting for the possible opening of a humanitarian corridor so the government can start repatriation efforts.
He added that the airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, was still open but not yet allowing refugees.
Still, Marcos stressed that the Philippine government is coordinating efforts with the Israeli government to allow the repatriation of affected Filipinos.
President Marcos has also already talked to the families and the loved ones of the two other Filipinos who died in the war in Israel. He assured them of all government assistance and the repatriation of their remains to the Philippines as soon as borders opened for refugees.
