Election gun ban violators, drug peddlers arrested in Bulacan


Several election gun ban violators and suspected drug dealers were arrested by police in separate operations in Bulacan on Oct. 15 and 16.  

Police said the coordinated operation against illegal drugs in Pandi, Bulacan led to the arrest of two individuals for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act), RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and the Omnibus Election Code (OEC).

Police said the suspects were both included in the drug watchlist.

Law enforcers confiscated from the suspects four sachets of suspected shabu, a sachet of suspected marijuana, and a .38-caliber revolver with two live rounds of bullets.

Meanwhile, in the City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM), a suspect was arrested for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in relation to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban.

Found in the suspect’s possession was a .22-caliber revolver with five live bullets.

The suspect was nabbed after a concerned citizen saw him carrying a firearm in Grotto Vista area of Brgy. Graceville, CSJDM.

Appropriate charges will be filed against the arrested individuals.

On Sunday, at around 11:45 p.m., the buy-bust operation conducted by Plaridel police resulted in the confiscation of suspected shabu amounting to P34,000 and marked money from a drug dealer in Brgy. Parulan, Plaridel.

Also, a street-level Individual (SLI) drug suspect was arrested by Calumpit police in Brgy. Gatbuca, Calumpit. Four sachets of suspected shabu worth P6,800 and marked money were confiscated from him.

The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU) for examination. The suspects will be charged for violation of  R.A. 9165, police said.
