With a strong emphasis on the vital role of data and statistics in promoting a healthier Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) marked the commencement of the 34th National Statistics Month on Monday, Oct. 16.
"With the theme of the 34th National Statistics Month, 'Promoting Data and Statistics for Healthy Philippines,' we are able to emphasize statistics as the foundation of sound policy decisions towards universal health care for every Filipino," said Undersecretary of Health and Governance and Organizational Development Team Dr. Kenneth G. Ronquillo.
He further encouraged the use of this month to foster partnerships and explore innovative ways to harness the full potential of data for health.
As National Statistics Month unfolds, it is expected to inspire all sectors to become champions of data-driven decision-making and advocates for a healthier Philippines, Ronquillo added. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
