Bulacan PNP establish 24 checkpoints to monitor transport strike
The Bulacan Provincial Police Office established on Monday, Oct. 16, 24 checkpoints and deployed 24 mobile patrols to monitor the transport strike in the province of Bulacan.
A total of 64 PNP personnel and the Bulacan Highway Patrol Group (HPG) were also deployed in different areas in the province, supported by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Bulacan police assured the public that they prioritize the safety and well-being of the participants in the ongoing transport strike, adding they acknowledge the significance of the right to assemble peacefully.
Earlier, the Bulacan police informed the public that the protest rally of the UCAJODA-MANIBELA organized by its vice president, Jose Pagdanganan, took place along Mac Arthur Highway in Brgy. San Marcos in the town of Calumpit to air their grievances about the jeepney phaseout under the Public Utilitiy Vehicle Modernization Program.
Around 35 individuals joined the demonstration which remained peaceful at the time of this report.
Police had a dialogue with the “TIGIL PASADA” protesters and advised them to conduct their protest peacefully without harassing other jitney drivers. They were also warned not to violate the laws.
The Bulacan police called on all parties involved to maintain peace and order throughout the protest rally as they continued to closely monitor the situation and ensure the safety of all participants.
Meanwhile, UCAJODA-MANIBELA Vice President Pagdanganan thanked the law enforcers's presence in the area. The group said the presence of Bulacan police ensured the safety of their program and the transport strike.
