Student dies in Friday the 13th crash

LIPA CITY, Batangas – A 19-year-old student died and four other students were injured when their car crashed into the gate of a subdivision on the bypass road in Barangay Inosluban, this city, on Friday night, October 13.

Police identified the fatality as Iris Orbon, a resident of Barangay Tamo, here.

Injured were injured Daniela Kim Dimaculangan, 19, driver, of Barangay Sabang, this city; Maria Isabel Sardona 19, of Pagbilao, Quezon; John Jolo Amo, 18, of Laurel, Batangas, and Marvin John Espera, 18, of Tanauan City, Batangas.

Investigation said the victims were on their way to JP Laurel Highway on board a Toyota Vios with license plates DBF2567 driven by Dimaculangan when the front right wheel bumped the gutter of the bypass road.

Dimaculangan lost control of the car which smashed into the gate of the subdivision.

Rescuers rushed Orbon to the Metro Lipa Medical Center where she was declared dead and the injured were sent to separate hospitals.
