Parañaque mayor suspends F2F classes due to transport strike
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez ordered the suspension of face-to-face classes in all public and private schools on Monday, Oct. 16 due to transport strike.
Olivarez said public and private schools will be holding online classes as an alternative learning modality.
He said the city government will remain open to continue to serve the public.
The mayor said the city government will be offering “Libreng Sakay” for the commuters who will be affected by the transport strike.
Olivarez said around 40 government vehicles will be deployed to major thoroughfares to help stranded commuters in going to their destination.
He added that the “Libreng Sakay” program will ply along Dr. A. Santos Avenue or Sucat Road going to Baclaran, Ninoy Aquino Avenue, Quirino Avenue and at the East and West Service Road.
