Job order employee dies in motorcycle crash


BACOLOD CITY – A 28-year-old job order employee of the Silay City government died in a motorcycle crash in Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City, Negros Occidental, on Thursday night, October 12.

Police identified the victim as Amuel Oderis of Barangay E. Lopez.

Police Major Rhea Sarah Villanueva, officer-in-charge of the Silay City Police Station, said the victim left his house on board a motorcycle to go somewhere.

Villanueva said while he was traversing the access road, the victim failed to notice an early warning device and crashed into a truck parked in a well-lighted area.

She said the victim was allegedly speeding and under the influence of liquor.

Despite wearing a helmet, the victim succumbed to severe head injuries, she added.

She said the victim’s family and the truck owner have reached an initial settlement.
