6 hurt as passenger van plunges off public market in Batangas

SAN JUAN, Batangas – Six persons were injured when their Hyundai Starex van  plunged off the parking area on the second floor of the public market in Barangay Poblacion here on Saturday morning, October 14.

Police identified the victims as Juan Perez, 54, driver of the Starex, and passengers Merlie, 56; Dolores, 57, and three minors, residents of San Pascual, Batangas.

Investigation said Perez lost control of the vehicle with license plates ZBM-958 while leaving the parking area and hit the metal barrier and landed on the roof of an Isuzu composite van parked on the ground floor.

Victims were taken to the San Juan District Hospital by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO).
