The latest album installment tells a story of youth coming face to face with reality and tackling it head-on and moving forward.
“The Name Chapter: Freefall” is fronted by the lead single "Chasing That Feeling," which is a 1980s-inspired new wave track that signals a fresh start within reality after leaving behind a sweet but stagnant past without growth.
According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “The Name Chapter: Freefall” sold 1,927,363 copies on the first day of release on Oct. 13, topping the daily physical album chart.
This is higher than their previous album “The New Chapter: Temptation,” which sold 1,868,919 copies on the first day of release on Jan. 27 this year.
During a media showcase for the album on Oct. 12, the members discussed the album and their career.
“I am always proud about the music we make and all the albums that we have made. I believe this is the best of them that we have prepared so far,” said leader Soobin.
The music video for "Chasing That Feeling” was also released, garnering 12 million views as of this writing.
It was filmed in Universal Studios in Los Angeles and showcased dynamic action scenes involving wires and cars along with an impressive use of CGI and VFX effects,
Yeonjun said he was excited because it was his first time visiting the inner part of the place.
“I’ve never been there myself. I actually have been to Universal Studios quite a few times when I was young. I loved it back then. Very memorable place for me. It was so exciting for me to go there to do this music video,” said Yeonjun. He said when he was young, he rode the theme park tram, “now I’m inside the studio watching the tour trams go by, which was quite a different feel.”

Tomorrow X Together performed “Back for More (with Anitta)” at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards where they won Push Performance of the Year.
“It was our first time to perform at an American awards stage so I think I was a lot more nervous than usual. But still people enjoyed our performance. If there’s a next time, we…will showcase an even more perfect stage,” said Beomgyu.
Tomorrow X Together said it was challenging to prepare for the album as they had a world tour and other schedules.
“There was a lot that…the genres that were first attempts this time around. There was some creators we were working together for the first time too,” said Soobin.
“The quality of this album and the quality of the songs are so good. We are confident of the quality. We were sincere about every single song. Unlike ‘Sugar Rush Ride,’ it has a different feel,” said Taehyun.
Tomorrow X Together members have collaborated with other artists and for Taehyun, he picked Jonas Brothers. TXT and Jonas Brothers collaborated on the song “Do It Like That.”
“I’ve always liked Jonas Brothers since I was a trainee. So when we got to meet the Jonas Brothers in the US, I was so happy. They were so nice. Hopefully, next time, we can work with Justin Bieber since we’ve worked with Jonas Brothers this time around,” said Taehyun.
Beomgyu said Anitta as “her song, her performance is perfect. Aside from that, she took time out to have meals with us. We talked about things. The artist I have wanted to work with since I was a trainee, I really loved Post Malone’s music,” adding that he hopes they could also work again with Hanroro, who wrote the lyrics for “Skipping Stones,” and indie songwriters in the future.
On what they wanted to achieve, Yeonjun said they want to go to a “bigger arena and stage.”
In addition, he said, “Hopefully, our song makes it within the top 100 of the Billboard chart and I know we can do this.”
On what music genre captures the essence of Tomorrow X Together, Yeonjun said, “Personally speaking, I would say it’s rock. Because whether it’s our message that we want to convey, or that very shining and sparkling youth image, I feel that when it is expressed through the genre of rock, that’s the most befitting. The genre I would take on as a challenge is hip-hop. I would love to show everyone, our fans, our members doing hip-hop.”
On some people calling Tomorrow X Together the next BTS, Soobin said, "It's an honor for us to be called the next BTS. I love that people like us and continuing our seniors, BTS, if we are contributing to the K-pop scene, that itself is satisfying and success for us. But we want to create our own music, our own color, and hopefully, have a better impact in a better way in the K-pop scene."
