LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said he already ordered the issuance of a Show Cause Order against the registered owner and the driver of the trailer truck who was accused of deliberate hitting the van driver identified as Benjamin Endrina Bagtas.
Bagtas was crushed to death after he was pinned between his delivery van and the trailer truck. His body was later dragged on the road after the truck driver went on driving the vehicle.
Citing initial report of the police, Mendoza said it started when both the driver engaged in road rage along the Mel Lopez Boulevard in Tondo, Manila.
In the video and based on the statement of a witness, the van driver alighted the vehicle apparently to confront the truck driver identified as Marlon Valdez Ilas but the latter maneuvered his vehicle towards the victim,
This resulted in the fatal road accident.
“As what we have repeatedly said the past, road rage will only aggravate any situation on the road. Let all the drivers be reminded that you have families waiting for you so you must keep your cool at all times,” said Mendoza.
