Rizal gov't employees 'duck, cover, and hold' as quake shakes the province

Employees of the Rizal Provincial Government and other local government units in Rizal Province did the standard operating procedure of "duck, cover, and hold" following the 5-magnitude earthquake that hit Metro Manila and nearby provinces at 8:24 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13.
The office of Rizal Governor Nina Ynares said employees of the provincial capitol performed the usual emergency drill at the sound of the alarm before proceeding to the open space outside the provincial hall.
In Binangonan, the office of Mayor Cesar Ynares said employees also did the emergency exercises before going out of their respective offices as Intensity 2 was felt in the town, along with Angono, Cainta, Taytay, and Antipolo City.
Atty. Jason Grospe, public information officer of the Binangonan Municipal Government told Manila Bulletin that the municipal government was informed that the University of Rizal System-Binangonan Campus conducted an inspection of the school building as part of the standard operating procedures after an earthquake.
The provincial government said Intensity 1 was felt in Cardona, Tanay, Morong, and Rodriguez towns.
The services of the local government units in the province resumed after the routine inspection was done and no untoward incident was reported.
