PRO-13 nabs 44 wanted persons

CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Seven most wanted persons were among the 44 wanted individuals arrested in a one-day manhunt operation conducted by the Police Regional Office-13 in the Caraga region on Wednesday, October 11.

In a report on Friday, October 13, the PRO-13 Regional Operations Division (ROD) said the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) nabbed 13, followed by the Surigao del Norte PPO and Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) with nine each, Agusan del Norte PPO with eight, and Agusan del Sur PPO with five.

A 22-year-old tagged as the Top 6 most wanted person on the regional level was arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Special Operation Team and BCPO-Station 4 at around 8:30 a.m. in Barangay Ampayon, Butuan City.

Suspect had a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 33 in Barangay Libertad, Butuan City for sexual assault dated October 5, 2023. The court recommended a bail of P180,000.

A 39-year-old from Madrid, Surigao del Sur, listed as Top 6 most wanted person on the municipal level, was apprehended by the Carmen Municipal Police Station (MPS) around 4:20 p.m. in Barangay Hinapuyan, Carmen, Surigao del Sur.

He was nabbed on a warrant issued by the Municipal Circuit Court, 11th Judicial Region for falsification of public document by private individual and use of falsified document docketed dated June 29, 2023.

PRO-13 chief Police Brig. Gen. John Kirby lauded lawmen for their accomplishment.

“We commend the efforts of our PNP personnel for these successful law enforcement operations against the fugitives from justice,” he said. “Arresting them ensures that no one is above the law and that anyone shall be held accountable for the commission of crimes.”
