Police net P4-M shabu in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY – Police seized suspected shabu worth more than P4 million from a major drug suspect in Calinog, Iloilo on Thursday, October 12.

The Calinog Municipal Police Station arrested the suspect, “Joms,” after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer. Seized from Joms was a total of 600 grams of shabu.

Police Major Myles Dieron, Calinog police chief, they have been monitoring the 30-year-old suspect from Barangay Poblacion Delgado.

Lawmen said Joms was a major supplier of drug pushers from other towns of Iloilo and this city.

Suspect faces charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 lauded the Calinog police for apprehending Joms.

“Isa na naman pong napakalaking accomplishment ito para sa atin. Masaya po ako na nahuli natin at nakumpiska ang mga iligal na droga bago pa man ito makasira ng buhay ng ating mga kababayan lalo na ng ating mga kabataan. Magtulungan po tayo para mapagtagumpayan po natin ang laban na ito,” said Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 director.
