King Gurtiza on target as Generals escape Chiefs

King Gurtiza delivered in the clutch anew as Emilio Aguinaldo College escaped Arellano, 79-76, in the NCAA Season 99 men's basketball tournament at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City on Friday, Oct. 13.

Gurtiza sank three three-pointers in the fourth quarter, including back-to-back triples that gave them a 77-74 lead with 1:05 remaining.

Troy Valencia tried to carry the fight for the Chiefs, but the Generals held their ground to claim their fourth consecutive win against two lossess.

JP Maguliano and Ralph Robin led the way and unloaded 20 and 16 points, respectively, while Gurtiza lorded it over late and chipped in 14 points for EAC.

Jade Talampas had 20 points while Valencia registered 16 as Arellano fell to 1-5.
