After a prolonged injury, Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang could’ve enjoyed the fruits of his 23-second comeback win over Adrian Mattheis and used the rest of the year to recharge and reflect on his triumphant return.
But he’s not about to let a certain fight pass him by.

Instead, Adiwang agreed to a quick return to the ONE stage against old foe Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado at ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium this Nov. 4.
It was against Miado when Adiwang blew out his ACL, and it’s a chapter that he’s eager to close as he looks to scale the strawweight MMA division once more.
“You know I was on a vacation when they offered me this fight, and of course I said yes,” Adiwang said.
“I’d rather go back and fight, finish unfinished business, and after this I can go and relax.”
Adiwang isn’t particularly new to losing, as he’s had a couple of setbacks before – but his loss to Miado was certainly tough to accept.
Not only did the injury put another blemish on his record, but it took 18 months of his life as he had to go through surgery, recovery, and rehab before finally being cleared to return to MMA action.
“It truly bothered me. It hurts losing in a way that’s beyond my control. I would’ve accepted it if I lost via submission, or via knockout, a clear loss – that’s easier to swallow.
“Losing via injury in a fight where I felt like I was winning, it hurts. It truly hurts.”
Given the chance to now put that loss behind him, “Thunder Kid” is eager to do it in the most emphatic way possible.
“At the back of my head, I know I need to finish this. I want to put an end to all talks, to see who’s the real winner, because the result of the first fight certainly left more questions,” he said.
“His fans and my fans really wanted to see who’s the winner, a definite winner without an injury.”
