DPWH starts 5-day repair of España Blvd in Manila; heavy traffic expected
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will start the five-day repair of España Boulevard in Sampaloc, Manila, at 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13. The repair work is expected to be completed by Oct. 17.
The DPWH-North Manila District Engineering Office (NMDEO) will conduct road concreting and re-blocking works in the westbound directions of España Boulevard, from Eloisa Street to Tolentino Street in Sampaloc.
The DPWH said the road repairs will follow a strict time period of five days to avoid major traffic congestion.
It said that the mobilization of equipment would start at 11 p.m. on Friday.
On Saturday, Oct. 14, the breaking and hauling of existing concrete pavement will be conducted. It will be followed by the pouring and curing of the concrete pavement.
The repair work will start at the first inner westbound lane, with nine linear meters and four linear meters from Eloisa Street.
The DPWH also said that a partial road closure will be conducted on two westbound lanes during the repair period.
It advised motorists of a traffic slowdown and to look for other possible alternative routes.
It said that the road repair is part of the DPWH-National Capital Region's (NCR) commitment to improve road efficiency and safety for the riding public.
