Zamboanga Hermosa Festival culminates with street dance tilt


ZAMBOANGA CITY – The annual Zamboanga Hermosa Festival here culminated on Wednesday, October 11, with a street dance competition and program at the Joaquin Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex.

Students from various public schools and organizations joined the annual street dance, one of the most anticipated events during the festival.

The ground of the sports complex was filled with action and color as students in colorful costumes whirled their way in honor of Nuestra Señora La Virgen del Pilar, this city’s patron saint.

The annual street dance was preceded by a parade of participants from the Zamboanga City Hall to the sports complex.

The Southcom National High School (SNHS) is  grand champion in the Hermosa-based category while the Maria Clara Lorenzo Lobregat National High School bagged the grand prize in the invitational category.

Second prize went to the Zamboanga City High School Main in the Hermosa category. The Gagandilan Akbar Performing Arts Guild emerged second in the invitational category.

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Divisoria here bagged third place in the Hermosa category and the Municipality of Sibuco won third in the invitational category.
