'Unbelievable humanity': Israeli official honors Filipina caregiver killed by Hamas
"Unbelievable humanity" was how an Israeli official described what Angelyn Aguirre, one of the two Filipinos who were killed during Hamas' surprise attack on Israel, showed to her employer.
Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, the deputy mayor of Jerusalem, said Aguirre had the chance to flee from the asault made by the militant group on Saturday.
But she showed "loyalty by remaining [on] Nira's side during the violence, resulting in both of them being brutally murdered by Hamas," Nahoum said.
Aguirre was a 32-year-old caregiver who had worked in Israel for six years, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

She was caring for her elderly patient, Nira, on kibbutz Kfar Gaza when the attack that already killed hundreds happened, Nahoum added.
"Unimaginable honor in the face of evil," Nahoum said.
Aguirre was only among the many Filipino caregivers in Israel who had made heroic sacrifices to ensure that their patients were still attended to despite threats of terror brought by Hamas to Israel over the weekend.
Another Filipino caregiver, Paul Vincent Castelvi, 42, was also confirmed dead; while Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv officials are also verifying another possible Filipino fatality.
Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss in a Facebook post expressed his condolences to Aguirre's family, who he described as a "hero," who "sacrificed her life to be with and protect her patients Nira.
"Angeline is another victim of the brutal attack of the Hamas terror organization," Fluss said.
