Las Piñas City Vice-Mayor April Aguilar visited the 43 families who were victims of a recent fire to assess their immediate needs and look after their welfare.
The 43 families were victims of a fire that broke out on Wednesday morning at Lopez Martel Compound in Barangay Almanza Uno.
Aguilar immediately coordinated with the barangay officials to ensure the delivery of relief goods, food, water, and basic necessities to the fire victims.
She assured the victims that the local government is there to help them as they grappled with the challenges of being homeless.
The vice-mayor said the local government, non-governmental organizations, and the broader community continue to mobilize support for the victims, highlighting the spirit of bayanihan amidst the adversity.
Aguilar said the fire incident underscores the importance of disaster preparedness, community cooperation, and the crucial role of local authorities in ensuring the safety and well-being of city residents.
