CAVITE – A farmer reportedly drowned in an irrigation canal in Barangay Molino, Naic, on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office identified the victim as alias Mazo, a 62-year-old farmer.
Naic Municipal Police Station’s quick response team responded to a report that the victim was found dead in the shallow portion of the irrigation canal.
Ocular inspection showed no sign of foul play, and no injury was found on the victim’s body.
Initial investigation showed that the victim left his house on Oct. 10 and failed to return.
Investigators also found out that alias Mazo had a medical condition that hindered his ability to recover after slipping and falling into the body of water.
The victim’s body will be subject to an autopsy examination.
