The local government of Manila announced that 534 beneficiaries received cash aid on the second day of cash distribution at the Dapitan Sports Complex in Sampaloc, Manila, on Thursday morning, Oct. 12.

The financial assistance is a program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in cooperation with the city government.
The micro rice vendors, such as sari-sari store owners from Manila's districts 3, 4, and 6, received P15,000 cash each.
On Wednesday, Oct. 11, 795 beneficiaries from Manila's districts 1 and 2 received their cash assistance.
The city government announced that 690 micro rice vendors from District 5 will be given their monetary assistance on Friday, Oct. 13, at the San Andres Complex in Malate, Manila.
The beneficiaries have presented their business permits as vendors of regular and well-milled rice, as the DSWD and DTI required.
The financial distribution program is in line with the directive of President Marcos to provide assistance to the affected small rice retailers through the implementation of the temporary price ceiling on rice through Executive Order No. 39, which took effect on Sept. 5 and was subsequently lifted on Oct. 4.
