Benilde head coach Charles Tiu wasn't pleased with the way the Blazers responded against a surging Perpetual side which almost caught them in the endgame of an 86-80 win in the NCAA Season 99 men's basketball tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

Tiu said they were suffering from costly turnovers since the last season where they finished runners-up to the Letran Knights.
“Turnovers have been our problem this season, we have not doing a good job in taking care of the ball,” Tiu said.
“We see some of our turnovers are just silly turnovers, it is something we have to address, actually dating from last to last year. My goal is to be a disciplined team pero medyo kulang pa kami do’n,” he added.
After exploding in the third quarter and holding a double-digit advantage that even reached 20, 75-55, at one point in the fourth quarter, the Blazers lost steam with Christian Pagaran and Art Roque working hand in hand to almost stunning Benilde in crunchtime.
The 38-year-old coach wasn’t feeling the team’s effort in the final quarter, where it mattered the most.
“I was happy for the first three quarters until the fourth quarter, I don’t know what they’re doing, they can’t follow instructions, they are not going anywhere if they’ll play that way,” Tiu stressed.
“Secondly, I’m amazed we’ve found the way to win despite giving up 37 free throws, I don’t know what we’ve seen out there, I guess we're just fouling too much and I’m not happy with that,” he added.
