Marcos mourns death of 2 Pinoys; condemns killings, terror in Israel
President Marcos has condemned the killings and the ongoing terror attacks in Israel as he mourns the deaths of two Filipinos amid the Israel-Hamas militants conflict.

“My heart is heavy upon hearing confirmation of the deaths of two Filipinos in Israel. The Philippines condemns these killings and stands firmly against the ongoing terror and violence,” Marcos said in a statement on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
The President also vowed to continue supporting affected Filipinos in the conflict, which started when terrorist organization Hamas launched air and land attacks on Israel during the Simchat Torah or the peaceful celebration of the Jewish people last weekend.
He emphasized that the Philippine government will not cease sending support to affected overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and the Filipino community affected by the ongoing conflict.
The Philippine government, Marcos further said, will remain resolute in the pursuit of lasting peace in line with the United Nations (UN) resolutions and international laws.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo confirmed on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday the killing of two Filipino nationals in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
“The Philippines condemns the killing of two Filipino nationals and all other acts of terrorism and violence as a result of Hamas actions against Israel,” Manalo stated.
Marcos has instructed the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) to locate and account for all OFWs and their families in Israel.
He has also instructed all the agencies involved in protecting the welfare of the OFWs and the Filipino community to work closely with the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Migrant Workers Office in Israel to ensure their safety.
