DSWD provides aid to families of 3 fishers killed in Bajo de Masinloc
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided cash assistance to the families of three fisherfolk who were killed after an unidentified commercial vessel” rammed their fishing boat passing through the waters off Bajo de Masinloc on Oct. 2.

DSWD-Field Office 3 Director Venus Rebuldela said the families received P10,000 each as burial assistance under the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
They were also given family food packs.
“Our Central Luzon field office will continue to monitor and provide the necessary assistance to the families of the affected fishermen,” DSWD Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communications and spokesperson Romel Lopez said on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
The three fishermen who died were identified as Dexter Laundensia, Romeo Mejico, and Benedick Uladandria.
Meanwhile, the fishermen who survived the incident were given food packs and cash assistance totaling P5,000 each.
The survivors were all from Brgy. Calapandayan in Subic, Zambales. (Erika Mariel Custodio Escover)
