Being named as the new generation's phenomenal loveteam, Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano or DonBelle stepped out of their usual "pa-sweet" characters into more fierce and challenging roles as Bingo and Caroline in their latest series entitled "Can't Buy Me Love."
During the grand media conference at the Seda Hotel in Vertis North on Oct. 5, DonBelle shared their preparations while shooting for the series.
"Preparing for this role was actually a collaboration of Direk (Mae) and I, up to now kinikilala ko pa rin si Caroline, and I also took classes for seven day learning hokkien, talagang inemerse ko yung sarili ko sa culture ng chinese kasi yung character ko dito came from a wealthy chinese family," Belle said.

The actress also added that she also had a one-on-one date with Director Mae to help get to know more about her character.

Playing the role of Bingo was both a challenge and an experience for Donny. According to him, the preparations he made to immerse himself in Bingo's life entirely was to spend one whole day roaming around the streets of Binondo and Divisoria.
"Kami ni Direk (Mae) actually one entire day, we scheduled just for the both of us to go to Binondo and Divisoria, umikot kami. First time ko yun actually, we just went around incognito kasama yung team, we just went around and direk was giving me advice like "Donny tignan mo kung paano nila buhatin yun" Yung mga ganung bagay," Donny said.

Portraying this kind of role for the first time, Donny wanted to ensure he was fully capable of portraying Bingo.
"Maraming work dito si Bingo nagagawin sa series, so I really wanted to make sure na alam ko rin yung mga pinagdadaanan ni Bingo," he added.

Also joining them on the series are some well-known veteran actors, including Nova Villa, Celeste Legaspi, Agot Isidro, Rowell Santiago, and Ruffa Gutierrez.
Nova shared during the grand media conference that she is happy to be back on the primetime series.
"I am very happy to be back with ABS-CBN, iba yung feeling kasi halos thirty six years ako sa ABS-CBN before transferring to other networks, and nandito ako ulit at napakaganda ng role na ibinigay nila sa akin and I'm trying my best talaga para magampanan yun," Nova said.
