DOH issues advisory on 'false claims' of solicitation in Herbosa's name
The Department of Health (DOH) issued an advisory on Tuesday, Oct. 10, addressing reports of individuals “falsely using” the name of Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa for solicitation purposes.

It said that the agency has been receiving reports of certain individuals representing themselves as DOH personnel and allegedly soliciting money from various suppliers under the disguise of securing a project with the DOH.
The Health Agency officially denies these claims and declares them to be "false."
The department stated clearly that such allegedly illegal activities would not be tolerated and appropriate action would be taken to address them.
Moreover, the DOH has emphasized its commitment to upholding the integrity of its public office and maintaining the trust and respect of the Filipino people.
It stressed that Herbosa and the entire DOH personnel are dedicated to serving the public's health and well-being with the utmost professionalism and honesty.
In line with this, the DOH is urging the general public to exercise caution when communicating with individuals who claim to be associated with or imitate national government officials.
It is crucial to verify the authenticity of such claims to prevent potential fraud or misrepresentation, it added.
Additionally, the department encouraged the public to remain vigilant in sharing information and advised obtaining health news and information exclusively from official DOH platforms.
Relying on credible sources is essential to ensuring the dissemination of accurate and reliable health information to the public, the DOH said. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
