8,600 women receive free cancer prevention services in Caloocan
Around 8,600 women in Caloocan City received free cervical screening and breast examination services for the whole month of September, the local government said Tuesday, Oct. 10.
The free services were conducted as part of the city’s activities for the Cervical Cancer Awareness Month (celebrated every May) and the Breast Cancer Awareness Month celebrated every October.
The activities were spearheaded by the City Health Department (CHD) along with various health centers in the city.
The beneficiaries were aged 20 and above.

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan commended the CHD and barangay health care workers for ensuring that the program’s benefits will reach as many people as possible.
He also promised that the city government will keep on prioritizing health programs for the citizens combined with strengthened efforts in encouraging more people to participate in such initiatives.
The city government will continue to deliver action and care, so we will make sure that all our citizens will be reached by our services and will feel the impact of our actions),” the City Mayor stated.
When I was just starting my term as Mayor, I promised that we would focus on health programs for Batang Kankaloo. We will not forget that and instead we are strengthening the action to fulfill our desire for free, fast, and proper health services),” he added.
