CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan and Medalya ng Papuri to 15 personnel for their meritorious performance in the line of duty during a ceremony at the regional police headquarters here on Monday, October 2.
Police Brig. Gen. Chito G. Bersaluna, acting Deputy Director for Operations, together with PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft, awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan to seven personnel from the Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO) headed by Police Lt. Col. Diomedes B. Cuadra Jr. for the apprehension of three suspected drug pushers who yielded P7,474,909.52 worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Surigao City.
The same award was also given to seven Surigao del Sur PPO personnel led by Police Lt. Col. Elvie V. Dectatoria for arresting Caraga’s No. 5 most wanted person in Barangay Rosario, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.
Julius B. Ojao, a Non-Uniformed Personnel assigned to the Regional Tactical Operation Center, received the Medalya ng Papuri for his four years of invaluable service as a fax operator and liaison.
Bersaluna and Kraft lauded the awardees.
"The giving of awards is part of the chief PNP Police Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr.’s five-focused agenda, particularly on personnel morale and welfare,” Kraft said. “This is one way of recognizing their outstanding accomplishment in the conduct of police operations and other law enforcement functions," he added.
