MANGALDAN, Pangasinan — The 39-year-old Overseas Filipino Worker allegedly killed by her husband in a hotel here on Sunday, Jan. 8, bore 300 stab wounds, police investigation disclosed.

The suspect, 41-year-old security guard Richard Acosta, faces a parricide case for the murder of his wife Marilyn, Lt. Col. Benjamin Zarate Jr., chief of police here, said on Monday night, Jan. 9.

Zarate noted that Richard was furious based on the way she was stabbed to death.

"Hindi niya tinigilan na saksakin ang kaniyang may bahay, mula katawan hanggang sa paa, at may saksak din sa kaniyang leeg (Suspect stabbed his wife all over her body and she also had a stab wound in the neck)," Zarate said.

Investigation said the victim and suspect checked in at the Golden Success Hotel at around 7:45 a.m.

A roomboy named ”Richmond” saw the suspect coming out of the couple’s room with blood on his body three hours later.

Responding policemen found the victim under the bed with blood on the floor and stab wounds in the body.

Police said the victim was killed using a small tool with a knife.

“Maliit na tools, na may kutsilyo ang ginamit ng suspek (The suspect used a small tool with a knife),” police said.

Marilyn was taken to the Mangaldan Rural Health Unit where she was declared dead.

The victim had just arrived from abroad and police said the motive of the crime could be jealousy.

Suspect planned to surrender and was arrested near the old PNP headquarters here, said Zarate.

"May balak na rin na sumuko kaya sa tabi na po ng old PNP building na siya nakuha ng PNP (He had planned to surrender and was arrested near the old PNP building)," Zarate said.
