A 22-year-old man allegedly behind the selling of marijuana to the youth was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by members of the Pasay City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) on Sunday, Jan. 8.
Col. Byron Tabernilla, city police chief, said the suspect, identified as Jhonell Dave, alias “Onyok,” was arrested around 5:05 p.m. along Tramo St., Barangay 64, Zone 8, Pasay City.
Tabernilla said SEDU operatives conducted the buy-bust operation against Dave after receiving numerous complaints on his illegal drugs activities.
He said Onyok was allegedly the source of marijuana in Tramo Street victimizing mostly the youth.
The city police chief said SEDU members were able to confiscate from Onyok about 23 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P2,760 and .38 caliber revolver during the buy-bust operation.
Tabernilla said the suspect was detained at the SDEU custodial facility after his arrest.
He said charges for illegal possession of drugs and firearms were filed against the suspect.
The city police chief is also asking city residents to coordinate with the police for the arrest of persons involved in illegal drug activities.
