Bureau of Immigration (BI) operatives intercepted a Chinese man who was allegedly caught in possession of more than 36 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride or "shabu" with street value of P100 million.

BI border control and intelligence chief Dennis Alcedo said 48-year-old Chen Yiye was nabbed last week while attempting to board a China Southern flight for China at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Immigration records showed that his name has been included in the BI’s blacklist and facing a deportation case issued in 2017.
Alcedo said the alien is in the country as a retiree and was reportedly caught in August 2016 in Angeles City while in possession of 36.58 kilograms of shabu.
"Alien fugitives have no place in our country and will be deported and and barred from returning," BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said.
Chen was brought to the BI's detention facility in Taguig City pending his deportation as he was also allegedly wanted in his country for the same offense.
